The next few years will be very exciting if you are into comic books adapted to the big screen. Warner Bros. has recently announced its movie lineup until 2020 – it includes a Batman v Superman movie, a Wonder Woman feature, the Justice League, a new Green Lantern feature film, and several others. Shortly after it was Marvel’s time to announce its new films to expect – and the list is just as exciting.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe will grow exponentially with the start of Phase 3, the Studios president Kevin Feige has announced. The lineup will include a series of favorites, like Captain America, Thor, the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy returning to the big screen, but there will be new heroes arising and making their movie debut in the coming years – like Captain Marvel, the Black Panther, the Inhumans and Doctor Strange (supposedly played by Benedict Cumberbatch). Let’s see a bit more detailed timeline of what to expect in the next few years:
2015
- Avengers: Age of Ultron (May 1st)
- Ant-Man (July 17th)
2016
- Captain America: Civil War (March 25th, with Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther)
- Doctor Strange (November 4th, with Benedict Cumberbatch rumored to star)
2017
- Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (May 5th)
- Thor: Ragnarok (July 28th)
- Black Panther (November 3rd)
2018
- Avengers: Infinity War Part I (May 4th)
- Captain Marvel (July 6th)
- Inhumans (November 2nd)
2019
- Avengers: Infinity War, Part II (May 3rd)
Besides this impressive lineup of fan favorites and new heroes on the big screen, Marvel plans to extend its lineup of TV series as well. Besides the Agents of SHIELD, which has entered its second season recently on ABC, the studio plans to dedicate some screen time to the likes of Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones starting next year. So, I think, we have a full and exciting year ahead of us.
