Microsoft Rolls Out Xbox One November Update

The system update outlined last month for Microsoft’s Xbox One gaming consoles is currently rolling out, bringing new features like custom backgrounds, changes in gamer profiles and the ability to post in-game clips on the users’ Twitter accounts, IGN reports. With this update the number of new features introduced by Microsoft has exceeded one hundred.

Microsoft has recently launched a website through which Xbox One users could propose new features and vote for their favorite changes they would most like to see in the next update. The website was a great success – users recommended thousands of features and have cast millions of votes on them, their feedback playing a huge role in improving their Xbox experience. The ability to use custom backgrounds was one of the most voted features, and it has been introduced with this update – users can now choose a custom color, an achievement art or any other picture through their Media Player app as their Xbox One background.

The updates to the gamer’s profile now allow users to attach a short bio to their information. Xbox One users can also select a set of showcase items that are displayed on their profile when it is visited by others – up to six game clips or achievements. Besides, pressing the Share button will enable users to publish their gameplay clips on their Twitter profile. Among the new features included in the update players can also find a series of new Live TV and Mini Guide features, like the addition of the Trending tab where US and Canada can view the top 20 most watched TV shows. Plus, the update comes with improvements to the Store, standardizing store categories for better browsing and an added option to restart their console through the “Power & Startup” menu.
