Chris Pratt may star in Cowboy Ninja Viking

You have to admit that the comic book genre is a fertile ground for cinema. From Scott Pilgrim vs. The World to the Dark Knight himself, we have seen some truly great comic book flicks along the years and now it looks like the long gestating Cowboy Ninja Viking movie may have found its lead in the form of Chris Pratt. The actor has been approached by Universal Studios to play Duncan, the graphic novel’s protagonist. Chris Pratt has just now gotten his big break with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy proving that he can handle a big franchise and branch out to the movies.

The adaptation of Cowboy Ninja Viking is based on the graphic novel by A.J Lieberman and Riley Rossmo. The story centers around Duncan, a patient who suffers from multiple personality disorder that gets transformed by the government into a Triplet, an assassin that has three different personalities (the movie’s title is the hint). He eventually breaks free from the programme and uses his skills to track down the billionaire that orchestrated this whole mess. There is talk that Chris Pratt will only play Duncan and not all three personalities. This might suggest that the casting call is still open for another three actors to occupy the roles or maybe Chris Pratt will wear heavy make up or get the CGI treatment. Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese penned the script and Marc Forster (World War Z) was for a while attached to direct but has left the position empty. The project is being produced by Film 360 alongside Mark Gordon (Criminal Minds, Saving Private Ryan).

Before Guardians of the Galaxy, Chris Pratt was best known for the role of Andy Dwyer on the popular NBC show Parks and Rec.. And what’s more funny than the character itself? He has a made up double personality named Special Agent Bert Macklin. With the actor’s engagement to Parks and Rec. coming to an end soon, is Chriss Pratt already getting home sick? The fame that came with Guardians of the Galaxy really brought Pratt upfront to a number of really big projects such as Jurassic World and of course the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy which will be premiering in 2017. Cowboy Ninja Viking is currently in development and does not have a premiere date at the moment.
