The Nexus 6 is in its first month of retail sale and many of those interested haven’t had the chance to buy the phone yet. Nexus 6 comes with Android 5.0 Lollipop in a package, and many are still wary of the idea since Lollipop is having its fair share of bugs. T-Mobile and other U.S. carriers are selling the Nexus 6, which is a first in Nexus history, since previous Nexus devices were exclusive to the Google Play Store. Now, T-Mobile has announced that its Nexus 6 models won’t even be branded like the AT&T and Verizon ones and won’t even have bloat ware everybody is mostly tired of.
Android fans have been looking towards the Nexus 6 and other Nexus devices because of the stock Android 5.0 Lollipop it should be running and T-Mobile says it can understand the need for a bloat ware- and branding-free flagship. T-Mobile decided that all bloat ware it would be installing on the Nexus 6, such as MyAccount, can be deleted if the owner doesn’t feel the need for it. Des Smith, Sr. Product Manager at T-Mobile US and business owner of both the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 disclosed that T-Mobile believes customers don’t want “a stupid corporate logo and a bunch of crap software” on their new Nexus 6.
T-Mobile’s decision to make the Nexus 6 bloat and brand free couldn’t have been better received by customers who are becoming increasingly annoyed by the volumes of bloat they get on Android devices nowadays. If bloat ware could be removed from a phone, it wouldn’t be an issue, but carriers usually don’t give users that choice. You can always uninstall the updates, but that still leaves an unwanted application on your phone or tablet. Props to T-Mobile for listening to customers and people interested in buying a T-Mobile Nexus 6. We hope other carriers see the benefit of listening to customers and find another way to market their software.
