The OnePlus Two is the supposed upcoming flagship from OnePlus, the successor of the flagship killer. Even though there is no official word from the company about when the OnePlus Two will be released or what kind of specs it will boast with, there is a constant inflow of regular rumors setting an early 2015 release date and pretty far-out specs for the new flagship killer.
The OnePlus Two has been confirmed as an existing plan for a handset by company exec Carl Pei in September, but we haven;t learned much about it yet. Even though the OnePlus One, coupled with Android 4.4 KitKat and CyanogenMod is one of the most customizable phones on the market (so to speak), rumors say the OnePlus Two will be even more so. The failed StyleSwap covers from OnePlus might be making a comeback with the 2015 flagship and we hope they get it right this time. The first round of StyleSwap covers were a bust because changing them actually damaged the phone’s chassis and battery. We hope OnePlus can remedy the issues and make some nice new colorful covers for the OnePlus Two.
Even though the OnePlus Two will be significantly improved hardware-wise, according to rumors, pricing will not exceed $500, which is a great price for a 2015 flagship. With the Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 and 6 Plus prices going well over that mark, we expect the cheap OnePlus Two to become an instant hit. That is if it will be sold as a normal flagship, without the invite system currently in place for the OnePlus One. While rumors don’t specify what kind of hardware the OnePlus Two will have, they do say that most of the specs will come as a surprise.
OnePlus are pretty tight about the OnePlus Two, but we still expect somebody to spill the beans about the specs soon. Since its predecessor has been such a hit and went so viral because of the invite system, we think that the OnePlus Two will rise to the levels of current flagships like the Galaxy Note 4 and Nexus 6. That would mean fierce competition for an extremely attractively priced OnePlus Two against the more expensive behemoths of 2014. We wonder how it will size up to the Galaxy S6, LG G4 and HTC One M9.
