Justice League Dark Script is Ready

Justice League Dark may appear as a Justice League knock- off at first glance but it’s actually more than meets the eye. Think of the most magically powerful characters in the DC universe. Ok? Now put them in a team and the rest is history. Guillermo del Toro has revealed in an interview with Forbes that the script for the supernatural team-up movie is finished and may actually be in the hands of some executive from Warner Bros. right now. The director confirmed that a movie adaptation of the comic book series was in talks in 2013 but up until now it’s been only static.

The horror afficionado’s script intitled Dark Universe is currently in the reading phase at Warner Bros. and awaits feedback. Justice League Dark came to be in 2011 thanks to writer Peter Milligan and artist Mikel Janin. The premise deals with several supernatural characters from the DC universe such as John Constantine, Madame Xanadu, Deadman and Zatanna teaming up and handling situations that the original Justice League aren’t suited for. The team has changed over time so it’s unclear which members will be in the movie adaptation. This certainly raise a lot of questions, mainly who will play John Constantine? We already have a show starring the comic book hero on NBC and, considering that it’s up for revision, we don’t know if the show will pour in the movie or if another actor will be cast.

The project’s future was considered for a long time to be uncertain as it wasn’t in Warner Bros. scheduled slate of upcoming superhero movies. Now that we know that Justice League Dark is still a possibility, we’ll just have to wait to find out if these supernatural misfits will be charming us on the big screen.Guillermo del Toro already has enough on his plate as it is with Crimson Peak coming in 2015, Hellboy 3 being a strong rumor and maybe and adaptation of H.P Lovecraft’s At the Mountains of Madness. The filmmaker also has plans for a Pinnochio movie in the near future so Dark Universe may not be on Del Toro’s mind for a while.
