Bill Moseley jumps from one psychotic family to the next .The Devil’s Rejects star has been confirmed to play Charles Manson in the upcoming movie by Susanna Lo. Deadline states that Moseley will portray the American criminal in the movie about his female devotees who carried out gruesome killings for the cult. The movie will not be about Manson as much as it will be about his fairer sex acolytes starting with their origins and ending with the “family’s” downfall.
The indie movie has been announced by Susanna Lo three years ago at Sundance and ever since then there’s not been much info, but now the flock of Manson’s cast is getting bigger. Joining the movie will be Eric Balfour(The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) as Bobby Beausoleil, Tania Raymonde(Texas Chainsaw 3D) as Leslie Van Houten, Monica Keena(Freddy vs. Jason) as Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme and Laura Harring(Mulholland Drive) as Alice Rainer. Bill Moseley gave a chilling performance in Rob Zombies’s Devil’s Rejects as Otis B. Driftwood, the murdering drifter. It won’t be a stretch playing Manson as Moseley does nail him in the looks department let alone him being a talented actor. Charles Manson is responsible for numerous murders, one of his defining moments which cemented him in the psyche of America was the “Tate- La Bianca” killings. He also is connected with the murder of actress Sharon Tate and other Hollywood locals. The plot will supposedly “chronicle how eight young women in his brood came from diverse and privileged backgrounds to become the most notorious female serial killers of the decade’s Love Generation.” The movie will supposedly see the girls as they were before Manson came into the picture and indoctrinated them up until the summer of 1969.
Bill Moseley will have his hands full with a role of this scope, but we’ll just have to wait and see if the actor can truly channel real evil. The movie has a budget of 2 million dollars and will shoot in Georgia and Los Angeles. Susanna Lo will also produce through Slo Motion Studios along with Jennifer Niejadlik and Ineke de Vos for Jennlik Productions.
