HTC Desire 620 mid-ranger launched in Taiwan

The HTC Desire 620 has been revealed by HTC this week in Taiwan and the mid-range handset should be up for sale starting on December 1 in the country. While we did hear rumors about the HTC Desire 620 before, we had presumed that we were dealing with one average handset. As it turns out, the HTC Desire 620 will be launched in two versions, with a few differences.

While international availability of the handset hasn’t been revealed, we do have a full list of specs and some photos of the new mid-ranger from HTC. One of the HTC Desire 620 models will run on a 64 bit quad core Snapdragon 410 CPU,  having a microSD card slot that can support up to 128 GB and added LTE. This model will set Taiwanese customers back around $225, which is not a high price for a mid-range smartphone. The other version of the HTC Desire 620 will run on a MediaTek MT6592 CPU, will support cards up to 32 GB and will go without an LTE connection. This one is the cheaper version of the phone and its price in Taiwan is set at $160, which is pretty cheap considering the pretty good specs. Oh and both the HTC Desire 620 and the MediaTek running HTC Desire 620G have dual SIM slots.

While these were the differences between the two models, both of the HTC Desire 620 variants released will run on Android 4.4 KitKat. The camera setup on both will be an 8 MP main camera with HTC’s own Eye Experience software included and a 5 MP front camera perfect for selfies. Otherwise, both version of the HTC Desire 620 have 5 inch displays with a 720p resolution, 1 GB RAM backing the CPU and 8 GB internal memory. Since the internal memory is pretty low, the microSD card slot will surely come in handy for those of you who like to listen to a lot of music and watch a lot of movies. Otherwise, we can see from photos that we’ve got some front facing speakers, but there was no word about them being the famous BoomSound speakers from the HTC One M8 and One E8. Since there hasn’t been any info released on whether the mid-ranger will be available outside of the US, we are hoping it will, since it has a cheap price and pretty good bang for buck ratio.
