Launching a large screen iPhone is said to be one of the best decisions made by Apple lately, especially when it comes to mobile gaming. Still a lot of folks miss the ease of use specific to the previous iPhone models. If the latest rumors prove to be true, these folks will be satisfied – Apple is said to prepare for the launch of an iPhone “Mini” with a 4″ display, KnowYourMobile reports.
The previous generation of the iPhone – the iPhone 5, 5s and 5C – were the last ones with a 4 inch display. The two models Apple launched this year had much larger screens. The iPhone 6 is the smaller one, with its 4.7″ screen, but the iPhone 6 Plus has even gone one step further with its 5.5″ display. According to the rumors circulating online the iPhone 6 Plus will maintain its status as Apple’s flagship phone, but the company is said to prepare for the launch of a 4″ handset as well, meaning that next year we’ll have three different iPhone models to choose from, with three different screen sizes. These rumors raise some questions about the place of the iPhone “mini” in Apple’s product line, especially as iPhone 5c is said to be dropped from it, being replaced by the iPhone 5s as the free option for contracts.
Considering the huge success of the iPhone 6 models, especially the Plus, Apple is unlikely to drop the 5.5: screen size any time soon. Still there are several iPhone users who are reluctant to make the switch, and the large display is one of their main reason – a phone with a 4″ display is easy to navigate with just one hand, while the larger ones are clearly destined to be used with both hands. The new 4″ iPhone model is rumored to be launched in the second half of 2015. There is a lot of speculation going on about the new handset’s name as well – some say it will be an iPhone 6s, others expect to see an iPhone 7.
