It’s amazing how a beloved celebrity has been turned into a monster in just a mere few weeks. After Bill Cosby has been accused by numerous women of rape, he fell in the eyes of just about everybody. And with just cause. The actor and comedian has been assaulted by accusations and many thought that their seriousness and high number of victims would essentially lead to a full scale investigation from the authorities. Well, it seems now that the moment has finally arrived. Judy Huth filed a law suit against Cosby for sexual battery and immediately after that she spent some time with the authorities which resulted in an opened investigation. Well, better late than never.
The woman claims that Bill Cosby allegedly molested her when she was 15 years old during their encounter at the Playboy Mansion in 1974. Judy Huth met with two Los Angeles police detectives three days after filing her lawsuit and their conversation lasted for 90 minutes. Afterwards the department reportedly opened the investigation after the meeting. Details about the conversation were not disclosed but Police Chief Charlie Beck has urged that all potential victims of sex abuse by Bill Cosby should speak with detectives. Huth is just one victim of over 15 who came forth against Bill Cosby. The comedian’s attorney, Martin Singer states that Huth had tried to sell this story for over a decade and wanted 100.000 dollars in order to remain silent. This demand increased to 250.000 dollars just when other victims were surfacing.Huth isn’t the last victim to become known, as last Friday a woman told CNN in an interview how she was sexually assaulted by Bill Cosby in 1979 after being drugged.
The aftermath of Bill Cosby’s reveal came swift and most notably, it extended to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where work crews had to clean Cosby’s star numerous times after people wrote “Rapist”on it. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce was not pleased of this display of anger : “When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways than to vandalize a California state landmark.” We also don’t know how deep the investigation will go but judging from how many victims surfaced in the past weeks, it’ll be to a great extent.
