Youtube is now being updated to its latest version, nr. 6.0.11 which comes with a new Material Design layout akin to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Ever since we first glimpsed at Android 5.0 Lollipop and its beautiful, minimal Material Design, the internet exploded with the new type of interface and every app in town was being updated to suit the new mobile OS. Now, Youtube has finally decided to release their own Material Design touting version of their mobile app.
Google is now pushing the new Youtube update and users are already giving positive feedback of the new appearance and style of Youtube, most people’s favorite video streaming application. Even though Youtube has its issues and unsatisfactory traits, Material Design sure helps improve the situation and make users more comfortable with the app, at least for now. Besides Material Design, the Youtube update also adds a few additional filters so that searching for videos can be a little easier.
The Youtube update began its rollout yesterday, and you should know by now that all things Material Design and Android 5.0 Lollipop tend to take their time to reach everybody, so don’t panic if you haven’t received the Lollipop treatment on your Youtube app. If you feel impatient and jittery and need to get the Youtube update as soon as possible, you can sideload the APK, which is Google certified. If you prefer getting the update directly from Google, it should be pushed your way by the end of the week.
Youtube is one of the favorites when it comes to free video streaming and seeing Material Design improve our experience with the mobile app is more than welcome. Android 5.0 Lollipop and its Material Design are slowly revolutionizing application design and interface appearance, bringing a more flat and user friendly look to most of our favorite apps. The Youtube update should demonstrate how the ideology behind Material Design makes interaction with a mobile device much more pleasant.
