Samsung Galaxy S5: Lollipop Now Available In Korea

Samsung Galaxy S5 owners can breathe a bit easier with the news of Samsung’s release of the hotly anticipated Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update. So why can people with a Galaxy S5 sitting in their pockets heave a sigh of relief? Because it means that they too will soon be able to join the small group of lucky Android users who have already received the Lollipop update.

Galaxy S5 users in Samsung’s home country of Korea who are with the three largest carriers in the country (LG Uplus, KT and Sk Telecom) were surprised by the news of their Lollipop rollout. Korea is the second country where Samsung Galaxy S5 owners have been a part of the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop staggered release. Earlier this month, Poland was the first to receive the latest in Android’s line of sweetly named firmware updates.

While Google’s slow and methodical Lollipop release has been to ensure that they can be on top of any necessary bug fixes, it has also had the added effect of building anticipation for those of us who are left eagerly awaiting news of more Lollipop update releases. The Korean iteration of Lollipop is expected to be similar to the European version which means that Android users can expect the same slick new Lollipop build, performance enhancements, bug fixes and of course improved speed and battery life.

Some of the most exciting features included in this new rollout are the beautiful and dynamic animations, improved notifications functionality, interruptions prioritization and settings, stability improvements, and a 256 bit security encryption.

What do you think about Google’s slow paced (or snail paced, depending on who you ask) rollout of Lollipop? Do you think that catching any glitches early on is worth the wait? Or would you rather jump on Lollipop and fend off any potential bugs yourself?
