Frozen and Game of Thrones Are Facebook’s 2014 Most Wanted

Frozen – the box office leading animation and Game of Thrones – the mythical battle of several great houses, scored as the most discussed titles on Facebook in the U.S.A. of this year, and each got the crowning position in their categories: the first was the most debated in the Movie category and the latter the most wanted subject in the TV Show category. Facebook has revealed numerous rankings of such sort, on different categories and it followed the example of Youtube, which released their Top 10 video and music video lists.

It is no wonder that Frozen hit first place in the race for the most debated movie. Animations are by definition family friendly productions, so the range of those interested in the subject is widened in comparison to movies pertaining to a more ‘’demanding’’ genre and without any doubt, Chris Buck & Jennifer Lee’s Frozen was a box office friendly animation as well. Winner of two Oscars and a 7.7 at IMDb, Elsa’s story impressed and fascinated the audience. To all this, we add recent news of a Frozen sequel/ spin off and numbers increase indubitably.

As for the ‘’Most Talked-About TV Show in the U.S.’’, Game of Thrones deserves its leading position and more. Although some are great productions of their genre, the following titles do not have a say in it if competition means Game of Thrones. The answer to the riddle is as simple as it gets: more than a great fictional TV Series, Game of Thrones means great George R. R. Martin literature, Dothraki language as a variant of Tolkien’s Elvish language, personality quizzes for fans to find out which family best suites them, great actors behind outstanding characters, plot twist-twists and last but not least, Dragons.

Game of Thrones

Somehow misleading, but accurate enough, Variety states: ‘’Facebook is not disclosing the actual data behind its top 10 lists for 2014.’’ Does this mean that the lists are a forgery? No! ‘’The company compiled the rankings based on how frequently a topic was mentioned in Facebook posts made between January and December 2014.’’
