The Galaxy A7 was nothing more than just a myth as a part of Samsung’s mid range smartphone line up. However, with the most recent spec sheet leak, it appears that the Galaxy A7 is very much real and looks to be very promising despite the lack of official information from Samsung.
Samsung, who is known for their top shelf Note series and Galaxy S smartphone lines, unveiled details on the Galaxy A3 and A5 as a part of their new mid range line up just a month ago. The Galaxy A3 and A5 were the first of Samsung’s diverse array of electronics to feature an all metal body construction which had Samsung fans giddy with anticipation. Well, it seems that Samsung is following up the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 announcement with equally impressive specs for the top of their A line, Galaxy A7.
The 5.5 inch Samsung Galaxy A7 will be running on a Exynos 5433 chipset that clocks in at a hearty 1.8GHz with 2GB of RAM behind it and will be shipped with Android 4.4 KitKat. For those smartphone geeks who are keeping score at home, the Exynos 5433 is the power plant in the Galaxy Note 4, Samsung’s priciest offering currently available in their stable of smartphones. This means that the Galaxy A7 will definitely make your wallet lighter than the Galaxy A3 or A5. This is exciting news for Samsung fans who will have more to choose from in terms of powerful phones with variable price points.
It has also been reported that the Galaxy A7’s 5.5 inch screen will offer standard 1080p display across all markets. This is good news as it contradicts earlier rumors stating that there would be display variants depending on the market. The Galaxy A7 will also be sporting a 2600mAh battery, and 16 GB of storage to hold all your songs and selfies. As far as camera specs go, it appears that the A7 will be offering a 5 megapixel front facing camera and a 13 megapixel rear facing camera. As for the details that we already know about the Samsung Galaxy A7 which came from previous leaks (and remember, many bothans died to bring us that information) include the A7’s dimensions. It looks like the A7 will be 150 x 75 x 6.3mm and will be a feather light 150 g.
No official release date has been confirmed by Samsung for when we can expect to see the A7 hit the market, but, if these leaks are any indication, we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer.
