Gresso Regal Black made by the Swiss luxury maker seems determined to stand out from this crowd .This time, Gresso with the Regal Black Smartphone seem to take it up a notch with an Android device that wants to top it all. As the company’s stated drive is to create exclusivist products that aim to underline the owner’s status and sophisticated style, this particular product seems to adhere to this philosophy. Right off the bat I have to say though that the Gresso Regal Black smartphone is dedicated to those few for whom money really isn’t an issue. Unlike the traditional smartphones that have the looks and the exclusive materials but don’t offer much in terms of performance, Gresso tries to erase this from our minds with pure eye candy.
The Regal series of smartphones that Gresso proposes offers 5″ displays with Full HD and Gorilla Glass and 1.5 quad-core processors, 32 GB internal memory , 2 GB RAM, 13 and 5 MP cameras. Granted, these specs may not seem as up to date compared to the flagships available today but bearing in mind that we’re dealing with smartphones of the luxury kind, Gresso offers quite a noteworthy package. The Gresso Regal collection includes the R1, R2 and the R3 and although these smartphones offer the same set of specs it is the choice of materials from which they’re manufactured that sets them apart. All three models will be available in limited editions of 999 pieces. The dissapointment though comes from the lack of LTE. At 3000 $ for the R1 and 5000 $ for the R2 and R3 this may sound slim, but the devices are aimed at stating the owner’s status rather than decking-out in therms of specs.
Within a limited available stock the Gresso Regal Black Edition will be available for customers to choose their preferred number engraved on the metal band on the back of the device. The Regal R1, R2 and R3 all share the housing built from titanium and are 8,8 mm thick and the overall weight climbs up to 205 gr. Seems quite hefthy but I guess titanium does that. The R1 is the cheapest of the lot with its case being made of said titanium. The device’s housing has been through spraying with metal coating which I’ve been told improves a material’s durability and resistance to scratches. The Gresso Regal Black R2 and R3 are actually the expensive ones, each of them being offered with 18 K gold plated finishes. The R2 uses white gold for the Gresso logo and metal band while the R3 has the yellow gold touch. All the Gresso R’s are packed in a black leather box which contains a certificate of authenticity, user manual and charger.
