MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K: Gaming in style

Gaming in sharper resolution than the mere “HD” is being made available through collaborations between hardware producers and chip manufacturers, such as MSI and Nvidia, as to bring devices like the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K to light. MSI was one of the pioneers in the game with the massive GT60 Dominator 3k, while now it reduces its flagship 3k gaming machine to a more decent sized device, the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K. The company bended the fabric of time-space to bring together the Ghost design with the 2.880 x 1.620 IPS display. Even better to note is the price, at 2100 $ it is 100 $ than its more serious competitor, the Razer Blade.

The design of the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K is making it look outright stylish. The lid is a deep gray, brushed aluminum encasing that is completed in style by an illuminating MSI Dragon Army logo. The same material is found on the keyboard deck, but it does not cover the whole device. The base of the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K is a plastic body with a decent number of vents and small downward-facing speakers.

The WQHD+ panel of the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K makes anything on that display look like it’s brought out of Narnia. The viewing angles on this device are quite wide, so go figure the possibilities. It measures 16.5 x 11.3 x 0.85 Inches (W x D x H) and it weighs just about 4.36 pounds, which might make it the thinnest 15-inch gaming machine out there. What MSI managed to cramp up in such a small space for the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K  is quite a feat. The CPU is a 2.5 GHZ Intel Core i7-4710HQ (quad-core, 6MB cache, up to 3.5GHz with Turbo Boost). Graphics are represented by the Nvidia GeForce GTX 870M (3GB GDDR5 RAM) and the Intel HD Graphics 4600. The RAM memory tops at 16GB DDR3L (1.600 Mhz), with storage capability of 1TB HDD (7.200 RPM) and a 128GB SSD.

What can two established manufacturers work out together? A crisp display, highly portable, highly powerful gaming machine that will make you spill your brains inside out over its amazingness. Even with all its drool-over design and specs the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K is not without fault. The battery life is quite low as the screen and the hardware are draining like crazy. Also to take into consideration is the fact that the MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K  runs quite hot, given its specs and reduced size that leaves less room for ventilation.
