Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5 fans can finally heave a sigh of relief. Why? Well it’s because smartphone consumers in the United States can now get their mitts on Samsung’s newest devices, the Samsung Galaxy A3 and the Samsung Galaxy A5. Even better news? The aluminum body smartphones will come sans SIM cards and unlocked meaning that consumers can have their pick of the litter when choosing carriers. So how much will these slick new phones set you back? Well, you can snag them (with free shipping of course) with the Samsung Galaxy A3 running $329.99 and the Samsung Galaxy A5 ringing in at $409.99.
So the question is, with about 400 bucks burning a hole in your pocket and your current smartphone on its way out, which phone to get? Well for about $80 more the Samsung Galaxy A5 will give you a Super AMOLED 5 inch display compared to the 4.5 inches that the Galaxy A3 has. You’ll also get better resolution with the Galaxy A5 boasting 720 x 1280 versus the A3’s 540 x 960. Display disparity aside, the extra cash will also buy you some more extras as well. While both phones are running a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 powerplant (with an Adreno 306 GPU doing the heavy lifting for the graphics), the Samsung Galaxy A5 will get you 2GB of RAM; twice as much as the A3’s 1GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy A3 will come with 8GB for memory (and the option to use a 64GB microSD slot) and the A5 will give you 16GB of memory with the same microSD option. If selfies are your main concern, you’ll have your choice of the 5 megapixel front facing (and 8 megapixel rear) camera on the A3 and a 5 megapixel front (and 13 megapixel rear) camera on the Galaxy A5. Both phones will come with Android KitKat 4.4.4 loaded (with no word just yet on the exact date for the Android Lollipop update). If money is no object, then perhaps the color options will be the thing that makes the choice for you. The Samsung Galaxy A3 is only available in white (for now) while the Samsung Galaxy A5 can be yours in either black or white.
With rumors of the Samsung Galaxy A7’s impressive specs ringing loud and clear, will you wait for the A7? Or are you ready to dive into Samsung’s newest aluminum smartphone line with the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5?
