The Samsung Galaxy A7 has been the subject of rumors and leaks that have so far painted a tantalizing picture of what it could bring. This latest piece of news on the A7 come hot on the heels of the news that the Samsung Galaxy A3 and A5 are now available in the United States (sans SIM and unlocked). According to reports out of Korea, it appears that Samsung plans to announce the Galaxy A7 on January 14th in South Korea. While there are reports that after its initial release in South Korea that the Galaxy A7 would likely see a release in China shortly after. Unfortunately, there haven’t been any additional details on whether Samsung will sell the Galaxy A7 beyond Asia.
While specs on the Samsung Galaxy A7 have been previously been revealed through leaks, it seems that its details are now more crystallized. So far it looks like the Galaxy A7 will follow suit with the rest of Samsung’s A series and ship with Android 4.4.4 KitKat running. (Bear in mind that Samsung is still rolling out Lollipop to its devices but no set date has been given for when the A series will receive the newest version of the Android OS.) Beyond running KitKat, the Galaxy A7 will be the slimmest smartphone in all of Samsung’s smartphone lineup coming in at a slender 150.9 x 75.9 x 6.3 mm. The slim aluminum A7 will be powered by a 2500mAh battery that will power the octa core 1.5 GHz processor with all bets pointing to the 64 bit Snapdragon 615 being the powerplant. In addition, you’ll be getting 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of memory space that is expandable on the top model in Samsung’s A series. The A7 will also offer a 1080 x 1920 pixel 5.5 inch display to show off your selfies. And to capture timeless moments throughout your life? The Samsung Galaxy A7 will come equipped with a 13 megapixel rear mounted camera and a 5 megapixel camera on the front.
