Flappy Bird, the highly addictive mobile game, has finally been resurrected! Smartwatch owners that are running Android Wear can now get to play the original Flappy Bird, and not one of the game’s countless clones. It has certainly been an exciting month for Android Wear users! For those of you who may not remember, at the beginning of last year, the independent creator of Flappy Bird decided to pull the massively popular game from the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store with less than 24 hours notice. Why would creator Dong Nuguyen walk away from the dream that many developers both big and small pursue? (Nevermind that at the time Flappy Bird was removed for app stores, the game was generating $50,000 per day in ad revenue.) It seems that Dong Nguyen totally knew where Biggie Smalls (aka Notorious B.I.G.) was coming from when he said mo’ money, mo’ problems. The man responsible for Flappy Bird didn’t want the pressures and stress that came with having an insanely addictive and successful game out on the market. Dong Nguyen made the announcement on his personal twitter when he said, “I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down. I cannot take this anymore. I also will not sell ‘Flappy Bird’, please don’t ask.”
But those dark times have finally come to an end. Given creator Dong Nguyen’s decisive farewell, how is it possible that Android Wear users can now play Flappy Bird? Well, we have Corbin Davenport to thank for bringing Flappy Bird back. Despite having a name worthy of a Bond villain, Corbin Davenport has proven himself to be the master of running an odd mix of apps and programs on Android Wear devices. In the past he’s shown Android Wear device owners how to run Windows 95, Temple Run 2 and Pokemon on Android Wear. In his latest video, Corbin shows you just how he got Flappy Bird on his Moto 360:
