Top 5 Walking Dead Comic Book Moments We Need to See on TV

I’ve been reading the Walking Dead comic since 2007 and I have to say that part of why I got into the whole comic book medium is due mainly to this zombie epic. Imagine my suprise when I heard about The Walking Dead heading on to the silver screen with Frank Darabont as helmer. It was a match made in heaven. Fast forward to 2015 and we’re already to season 5. Even though the show achieved massive popularity, it hasn’t quite earned the title of classic, at least in my eyes. Many comic book moments were tweaked or downright adapted for the TV version, yet there’s still a lot of viewers who are not satisfied with how the TV story is handled. Is there room for improvement? Absolutely. If the show wants to succeed at what the comic does best, and that is the twist factor, then they should get these comic book moments right. Caution, there may be some spoilers ahead.

5.Rick loses his hand

This is unlikely to happen, as the TV show passed the moment where Rick Grimes should have lost a limb. In the comic book, however, our hero gets his hand cut off by none other than everybody’s favorite villain, The Governor. It cemented Blake as one of the Walking Dead’s most dangerous enemies and reminded us that no one is safe, not even Rick.

4.Alexandria

We don’t really know what will happen next in the show, but Washington still sounds like an option, even if previous episodes rendered the capital as just another zombie infested city. But the place is home to the Alexandria safe zone, a community where Rick and his group are bound to arrive.Alexandria would work perfectly on TV and it’s a logical ending point for season 5.

3.Jesus, the combat specialist

No, it’s not our Lord and Savior, but he may as well be.The character that introduces Rick and his people to other survivor communities will most likely appear in the near future.I just got to say that when he is introduced, he’ll surely give Daryl a run for his money. If the show does Paul Monroe aka Jesus justice, then expect lots of hand to hand combat with the undead. Cool.

2. That thing with Glenn(spoiler)

The Walking Dead has a long standing reputation for killing off characters. On the TV show, though, it’s a hit or miss. Some are killed off quite well while others aren’t even that interesting to care for. But say, if a specific comic book moment would come to TV and mess with our heads, then this would be the definitive one.

1.Negan

If your hate for the Governor was deep, then get yourself a bigger shovel. Negan would be the best choice for the next Walking Dead villain but only after some key events that would make his introduction more natural.AMC will obviously have to re-think the dialogue for Negan, as the character has a habit of cussing a lot.And I mean A LOT.
