Jennifer Lawrence Set to Dive into a James Cameron-Produced Movie

Jennifer Lawrence became a symbol of courage and rebellion with her part as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games franchise, of which the second Mockingjay will release later this year. That she conquered the public with her role was obvious by the box office reports of the first Mockingjay, which remained a favorite title for several weeks in a row. That her name comes in connection with a James Cameron-produced biopic must be a real treat for a great number of cinema-goers.

Variety informs that Jennifer Lawrence is associated with an upcoming biopic, entitled The Dive. As the name of the production suggests, the story will focus on the life of a sea-diving aficionado. More than an adventurous game, the film will be based on a love story between Cuban diver Francisco ‘Pipin’ Ferreras and French born Audrey Mestre. Thus, apart from being an extreme sports picture, The Dive will also focus on the romantic side of the business and Jennifer Lawrence is said to be in talks for the main female role, the one of Audrey Mestre. The story has it that Pipin was the one under whose guidance the female became a professional diver and a word records breaker. Their love story is a tragic one, as Audrey died at the early age of 28, while following her dream as a diver. Her life ended in the middle of a breathe-hold dive over 500 feet.

Jennifer Lawrence will not take the dive into the biopic alone, as Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence is also associate to the project. With the precedent of the adventure hunting installment and its records in box office charts, it seems right to presume that The Dive is likely to follow its steps, with both the director and the lead actor being attached to the biopic. On top of everything, with Avatar director James Cameron set to produce and a real-life risk-taking story behind it, The Dive sounds promising. Other names involved in the project are Dana Stevens, the one who penned the script of the movie and duo Rae Sanchini and Barry Josephson, who along with Cameron are set to produce.
