The 87th edition of the Oscars will be held on 22nd of February at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Starting with 1929, when the first edition of Academy Awards took place, there were many moments and shocking incidents during the ceremony:

Everything seemed to go well during the speech of thanks of Melissa Leo who won in 2011 the Academy Award for best actress in a supporting role, in the movie ‘The Fighter’. When he won the Oscar for best lead male role, for the movie ‘Philadelphia’ in 1994, Hanks paid homage to a man who probably would have liked to remain in the shadow. Hanks thanked Rawley Farnsworth, his theater professor in high school, which described him as “one of the most awesome American gay”. The teacher had not talked yet in public about his sexual orientation.

But because of his dismal past, he did not show up at the Gala, because he would have been arrested right away for pedophilia. When they announced that he won the prize, the whole audience applauded him standing on.
