The BRIT Awards winners of the event’s 2015 edition were two singers that have totally won over the hearts of their music fans, Ed Sheeran, with a number of five nominations, and Sam Smith with four nominations. Ed Sheeran has won the British Male Solo Artist for the second time in his career after battling with the best music artists of the moment, including big names like Sam Smith, George Ezra, Paolo Nutini, and Damon Albarn. The artist has dedicated this award to the departing head of TV promotions, Deirdre Moran, from the record label Atlantic Records.
The first time he had won the prize entitled British Male Solo Artist was in the year 2012, the British Album of the Year award being added to his collection this year, a prize that was presented by the one and only Russell Crowe. Ed, the 24 year old singer and songwriter admitted to the world that he was really worried about this album, reason for which it took him a long time to become fully satisfied with the end result of the album. Ed Sherran’s album quickly become the most bought album of 2014, with a number of 5.8 million copies sold. Sheeran does not hesitate to tank his fans for remaining beside him.
The BRIT Awards were also taken over by the 22 year old Sam Smith, as this young star has been rewarded with the Best British Breakthrough prize and best Global Success Award. For the nominees to become BRIT Awards WINNERS of the British Breakthrough prize, they first of all must be selected through a public vote. The other nominees that Sam went up against were: FKA twigs, Chvrches, Royal Blood and George Ezra.
The name of Sam Smith’s album is ‘In The Lonely Hour’ and was released last year in May 2014. The album remained a No. 1 on the UK Album Chart for a long time. He has also had two number one singles, ‘Money On My Mind’ and ‘Stay With Me’.
