The Mission Impossible franchise has just made public the title of the fifth installment, officially naming it Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. Along with the title announcement, an official first-look spot was released to the wide public. This being said, it is likely that the title decision of Mission Impossible 5 affects Star Wars fans the most.
The Hollywood Reporter blames the Tom Cruise starring picture of using in the title a keyword already used by a Star Wars spin-off, called Rogue One. It appears that Mission Impossible has only released its title intention on Sunday, whereas Star Wars has formerly been attached to ‘’Rogue’’. In order to avoid a situation in which one of the two pictures must renounces its title keyword, Disney and Paramount have made an agreement. A vital factor in the making of this decision it the established release date of each picture. On one hand, we have Star Wars spin-off Rogue One, which although announced its title on March 12, will be released on 16 December 2016. On the other hand, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation is set to release on 31 July 2015, considerably earlier than the Star Wars episode.
Thus, the deal which was made between the two studios is the following: Disney is not allowed to use the name Rogue One for any promotional purposes until Mission Impossible 5 is released. In this way, Star Wars seems to have lost a battle to Mission Impossible, considering that their marketing strategies will thus be delayed all through the summer. Although, considering that the Star Wars spin-off will be released only at the end of 2016, the studio will have more than enough time to rethink their marketing strategy.
As for the newly released Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation video, we are welcomed in the action of the movie from the very beginning, with some Tom Cruise wrath and fighting schemes. Shootings, blow-ups and motorcycles are the main ingredients of the picture, with a slight scent of femme fatale, dressed not in red, but in a bright yellow ravishing dress.
