This year’s world’s most famous music event, the Glastonbury Festival will take place between the 24th and 28th of June at Worthy Farm in Pilton. Kanye West has been confirmed to headline at the Pyramid stage on Saturday. Other confirmed headliners so far have been Foo Fighters on Friday and Lionel Ritchie on Sunday. For Kayne West, this will be the rapper’s first appearance at the Glastonbury Festival; the pop star is believed to have the capacity of bringing this great music event to the next level of entertainment.
The daughter of the Glastonbury Festival founder, Emily Eavis is the organizer of this year’s event and has announced on Twitter the following, “We are thrilled to let you know we have the one and only Kanye West headlining Saturday night on the Pyramid stage!”. The music lovers paid a fee of £225 for a ticket and was has sold out in less than 30 minutes. The festival organizers have made public the fact there are plans for a new ticket resale in the first part of April, just in case there will be any cancelled or returned tickets.
Michael Eavis, the founder of Glastonbury Festival, was previously a farmer before first launching the event in 1970 on his patch of farm land. The innovative idea has now become a World renowned venue for a five-day music festival that hosts contemporary music, comedy, dance, theater, cabaret, and other performing arts. As time passed the festival increased in popularity, which gave the incentive for more recognized names in the music industry to begin performing there. Past headliners at the festival have included ex-Oasis man Noel Gallagher, Jamiroquai, Elvis Costello, Radiohead, Pulp, Robbie Williams and Blur.
