For the last few years Apple have released the upgraded version of their flagship iPhones during late summer. Right now we are wondering if they will do the same, and if they do what will it be? Will there be an all new iPhone 7 or will it be the updated iPhone 6s?
Also the question needs to be asked what the upgrades will entail, there are a couple of analysts that are already predicting that the upgrades will be to do with the camera. Currently the iPhone 6 has an eight megapixel camera, which is actually pretty good but is something a little behind other brands such as Sonys, Experia Z4 that contains a whopping 20.7 megapixel camera. That isn’t just a difference but instead on a whole other level.
The analysts are predicting a 12 megapixel camera on the new iPhone 6s/ iPhone 7, I wonder if they will be right. However, having said that they may increase the number of pixels of the camera, there is also the prediction that they will make it smaller. A smaller camera will mean that its ability to take in light will diminish, these will then effect the pictures it takes. A smaller camera taking in less light will not cope as well during low light levels, taking pictures in such conditions as it will not be able to capture as much light and will leave you with a more blurry, ill defined image. This sounds as if a step backwards in the camera if it is true.
If you take a direct comparison between a large 8 megapixel camera and a small sensor megapixel camera, then the large sensor one will take the better picture as it will be able to absorb more light and create a defined, crisper image.
Another potential for the upgrade is with its size making the new iPhone smaller than the iPhone 6. With rumours about its new size still going strong there is the belief that the new iPhone 6s/ iPhone 7 will have a four inch screen, in fact would it be called an iPhone 6c?
A smaller phone would attract a lot of potential custom from those that want the newest and best of the Apple iPhones but do not want the large size of the iPhone 6, however there is the question of whether Apple would make this new phone in plastic rather than aluminium.
I have a feeling we are going to have to wait it out for all the answers to this, but all the speculation will only add to the excitement and whatever is released there s no doubt that there will be the usual crazy queues of people waiting to get their hands on the new iPhone 6s, or the new iPhone 7 or indeed the new iPhone 6c. We can but wait.
