9.Mahatma Gandhi
When Britain still ruled India Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was the most prominent leader of Indian nationalism. He was also recognized around the world for his advocacy of nonviolent civil disobedience. He was killed on January 30, 1948 by a Hindu nationalist.
