Almost two weeks ago, on October 23, the cinematographic media roared about Christian Bale’s latest project, the upcoming movie based on the life of Steve Jobs, in which the Batman actor was assigned the leading role. Today, the very same media takes back whatever it had promised to its readers, as headlines emerge saying that Christian Bale is leaving the project.
Christian Bale has recently decided to disunite from his Steve Jobs character before shooting for the biographical picture had even commenced. Filming has been scheduled to begin this winter, but the crew is now left without the leading actor and must reconsider casting. Batman has released himself from the Apple founder based movie due to ‘’conflicting feelings’’, a source informs The Hollywood Reporter. Christian Bale did not make the unfortunate decision at a blink of an eye, the departure being forgone by a process of meditation on the subject. As a conclusion to his resolution, the actor stated that he was ’’not right for the part after much deliberation’’.
The Oscar winning actor is not the first one to resign from the yet unfinished tribute movie for the founder of Apple. Although David Fincher was said to be the initial director of the movie, his directing place was eventually taken by Danny Boyle, famous for Slumdog Millionaire or 127 Hours. The yet untitled movie is based on a script written by Aaron Sorkin, remembered by fans form The Social Network. It was Aaron who publicly announced Christian Bale’s role as Steve Jobs, in a Bloomberg TV interview ’’We needed the best actor on board in a certain age range and that’s Christian Bale’’. The script writer stated, in addition, that Bale did not even have to audition for the part, as he was immediately chosen.
As previously mentioned, Christian Bale was not the first actor to ultimately refuse the demanding role of Steve Jobs. Leonardo DiCaprio was also solicited for the leading role, but he refused Sony Pictures with the motivation that he wanted to take a ‘’lengthy break’’ from acting.
