HTC One M9 specs leaked, mention a One M9 Prime

The HTC One M9 is the upcoming flagship for 2015 from HTC and the latest leak suggests that the company might greet the new year with two new smartphone models in the works. While we did talk about the HTC One M9 before, most of the specs we got our hands on were rumors and speculations, but this time the leak is coming from a source many are trusting in the online media currently. A Chinese report details what the HTC One M9 specs will include once it is launched in a few months, and mention a brother named the One M9 Prime.

The HTC One M9 release date should occur sometime in February or March, and will introduce a new concept from HTC involving the tagline: bigger is better. Consequently, leaked HTC One M9 specs include a 5.5 inch display with a 2K resolution (2560*1440). HTC won’t go easy on us with the One M9 and leaks suggest that the new handset will run on  a Snapdragon 805 CPU backed by 3 GB RAM and either 64 GB or 128 GB internal storage. A 3500 mAH battery should be providing the juice for the HTC One M9, which should prove to be a powerful and long-lasting smartphone.

Talks have described that the HTC One M9 might switch from the BoomSound speakers we’ve been so happy with on the HTC One M8 and take on Bose sound instead. At the same time, the HTC One M9 will up its camera to a 16 MP shooter on the rear complete with optical image stabilization, which is a significant boost from the 4 UltraPixel duo camera we’ve seen on the One M8. Android 5.0 Lollipop is more than expected, so we should expect Sense 7 to surface alongside the HTC One M9.

The Chinese report we are basing these suppositions and HTC One M9 specs on also mention the existence of a second version of the flagship, called the One M9 Prime. Some say the Prime would be successor of the HTC One Max, with a bigger screen and more or less the same specs, but we might be surprised in the end. Rumors about the HTC One M9 Prime include an 18 MP duo camera, the same CPU and RAM of its brother and a larger display, although take these with a grain of salt. In any case, most rumors say that the HTC One M9 and One M9 Prime will hit shelves at the same time, early in 2015 and make their debut at the MWC in March, in Barcelona.
