iPad Air Plus is a massive new slate with Touch ID

The iPad Air Plus blueprints have surfaced on the internet last week and the drawings detail a huge tablet Apple is working on. The 12 inch display the blueprint details for the iPad Air Plus shows off just how much people have gravitated from the useful to the behemoth in the past few years. We can also see how Apple is now struggling to keep up with the boatload of various large-screen Android tablets already on the market.

The iPad Air Plus will be Apple’s attempt to create a large tablet that focuses on work rather than media consumption, and its large display should end up being a staple for the category. Although Tim Cook and the company haven’t confirmed sending out those blueprints, we are fairly sure that the iPad Air Plus is a real device, but maybe it won’t be launched under this name. We don’t know much about the upcoming Apple slate, save for its size: 305.31*220.8*7 mm. That results in a big, thin tablet and we suppose it will also be extremely light-weight if it turns out to be an actual member of the iPad Air family. Touch ID is a confirmed presence on the upcoming slate, since the company has decided the fingerprint sensor should be there on every mobile device they release.

Rumors say the exact dimension of the iPad Air Plus display is 12.1 inches, which would make the tablet the device with the biggest screen Apple has ever made. Mobile device, that is. The iPad Air Plus is closer to a MacBook in size so we can assume that this tablet will be something aimed at a certain demographic, similar to what Lenovo did with the Lenovo Horizon 2S and Horizon 2E. No matter what Apple has in mind for the iPad Air Plus, or whatever it will end up being called, the new slate will no doubt be a milestone in the development of the company. It remains to be seen whether the new tablet ends up being a media consumption device, a work-oriented device or an education device to be used in schools and universities. Curious? Keep in tough and we will keep you posted on the iPad Air Plus 12 inch tablet from Apple. Keep in mind, what we know so far is still just rumor, since the blueprints of the device haven’t been confirmed yet.
