Drones are all the rage right now. Many want them as Christmas presents and though I could understand why they could be a nuisance I would however change my opinion under some circumstances. The Carbon Flyer is one such circumstance and I’m really chuffed about this particular device. It is the world’s first carbon fibre crash proof Bluetooth controlled drone with an on board camera. It is a high-tech toy that looks awesome and features a design construction that is durable than any other remotely controlled plane, surviving with ease the unavoidable crashes. The Carbon Flyer is easy to control and addresses the RC enthusiast, the gadget lover or the geek in all of us. Even if you wouldn’t fancy yourself filming videos all day you would still be impressed if you just owned this piece of good looking equipment just for the looks. But as I said, it’s practical too. This toy is a carbon fibre goodness from an Columbus Ohio firm that brought us the Beluga Razor, the Power Squid and the Onion Goggles.
The Carbon Flyer still available through crowdsourcing already raised the desired amount to mass produce this baby, but Trident Design, LLC the firm behind this gadget can still welcome additional funders to improve this tech toy even more. The carbon fibre airframe used for the Carbon Flyer is assembled using carbon nanotube enhanced epoxy that creates bonds stronger than steel and this is always good protection for the crash proof bit. The said airframe also reduces drag during flight thanks to the delta-wing design and allows high-speeds and easy control through long range Bluetooth 4.0 and the subsequent smartphone app. The dual high powered motors with differential thrust steer has no fragile moving parts and this translates as increased endurance over time. It also contains rechargeable Li-Ion batteries easily replaceable when the need arises. It also features a carbon fibre stand to place your Carbon Flyer on your desk or whatever you want to place it. So you know, the estimated delivery of this gadget will be somewhere in August if you contribute to this crowdfounding campaign.
