Another big name from the Premier League heads over to Los Angeles. Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will make the move to LA Galaxy in July when the his contract with Anfield expires.
He becomes the second former england captain to make the move to the StubHub Center as David Beckham, who had a 5 year run there from 2007. While Gerrard former team mate, Robbie Keane had four successful seasons with the club.
Head coach Bruce Arena is expecting a similar impact from the 34 year old. “He is a very talented player, a great leader, very professional and he’ll complement our team. Steven Gerrard is commited here and he will give it a 100%, and hopefully make our team champions again.” said Bruce Arena to the press.
The LA Galaxy ended 2014 as MLS Cup winners after a 2-1 win over New England Revolution in December. LA Galaxy president Chris Klein sees Steven Gerrard the perfect addition, as they search for a fourth title in 5 seasons.
