Fifty Shades of Grey is a provocative Valentine’s Day present for cinema goers and its being R-Rated seems to seduce a great deal of people. Although advance tickets went on sale last Saturday, in less than one week, the upcoming motion picture based on an already hip & seductive novel, managed to conquer audiences and thus became Fandango’s fastest-selling R-Rated movie.
Universal Pictures’ movie surpassed worldwide famous titles like Sex and The City 2, which is already a universe in itself. More than that, Fifty Shades of Grey outpaced both second and third Hangover and David Fincher’s Gone Girl. With its very first week of advanced tickets sale and numerous people eager to watch the passionate plot of the picture, Grey also becomes number one in a chart of non-sequel movies, thus going ahead the first Hunger Games, which was released in 2012.
Fifty Shades of Grey is a 2011 erotic novel written by British author E. L. James and is the first book in the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy. The plot follows Anastasia Steele, a college graduate, and the charming Christian Grey, a young business magnate. Their relationship evolves on dark and romantic paths, with passages of sexual practices which seem to be highlighted in the available trailer and the entire picture is likely to focus on the sexuality and seductiveness of the main couple.
Due to its worldwide success as a best-selling novel, Fifty Shades of Grey was now turned into a motion picture directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson (known for Nowhere Boy – 2009 and Love You More – 2008). Dakota Johnson interprets the naïve graduate Anastasia Steele, seduced by the charm of Jamie Dornan aka Christian Grey. According to Variety, the sensual picture represents a risk for Universal, as highly sexually-themed productions were lost somewhere in the early nineties with titles like Basic Instinct of Fatal Attraction.
Fifty Shades of Grey will be released on 13 February 2015.
